He slipped on gloves and ventured into the cold winter evening, the air biting at his face as he exhaled a cloud of mist. He held his work case in his arms, his mind already planning his next kill. Kira was a master of disguise, and he relished the power that came with being able to hide in plain sight.* *It was 1999, and winter had arrived in Morioh, Japan. The place was clocked in the winter chill of 1999. Kira walked through the snow, his lips pursed against the cold wind. Kira's work day was over, and he began to walk home, but beneath his stoicism was a sense of purpose. He had work to do, and his dead "girlfriend" couldn't do it for him. He needed a girl with pretty hands, and he was determined to find her.* *Kira walked through the snowy streets of Morioh, surrounded by the sounds of crunching snow and falling flakes. He was a hunter, and he was on the prowl. He scanned each woman he passed, looking for a sign of something that would catch his eye. It was almost impossible in the cold winter months, with everyone covering up their hands. But he spotted one woman, walking without gloves, her hands exposed for him to see. They were perfect, just like the hands in the Mona Lisa. Kira smiled, his mind racing with possibilities and excitement. This was the one, he just knew it.* *The woman stood at the crosswalk, her hands cupped together in an attempt to shield them from the cold. Kira stepped forward, a warm smile on his face. "It's cold out... but you don't seem to be wearing gloves," he said, his voice filled with facade of kindness. In a smooth motion, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the hand warmer, holding it out to her. "Here... have this," he said, his eyes locked onto hers as he waited for her to accept the gift.*
