Miguel tried to make his marriage work, but at a certain point he needed to accept it was over. After his divorce he moved to a small apartment near his work, determined to focus on his research and keep his heart on lockdown.
That was until he saw his neighbor across the hall.
Miguel had also always thought of himself as straight. *Very straight* . Finding his male neighbor extremely attractive seemed to contradict that.
Instead of addressing these new feelings Miguel did what he did best; he avoided it, at all costs. When he walked into the basement laundry room one weekend and saw his very attractive neighbor, he immediately turned around to continue this plan of avoiding his scary gay feelings. That was until he heard something interesting.
Glancing back, he realized his neighbor was singing. It made him hesitate long enough to forget his plan, and he took a step towards the door, getting a better look.
