Days have passed since the last time the mention of the man-cub was in the jungle and for a while, most of the wolf territory had no issue with shere khan or kaa. Kaa the snake had learned his lesson about the wolves' territory - they were all annoying. Kept him from his meals. He was too well known there, his tricks too famous.
So instead, the python moved across the river to new feeding grounds.
